For the lovers of the sky, of the eclipse, of the stars, of the wishes to whisper in a moment. For all the ones that love to watch to the night sky and dream, dream to the infinite, by looking at the small bright dot thousands light years away. For all of them and not only here you have all the astronomic events of the just started year. Eyes to the sky for the 2021, between stars, super moon and eclipse we will see amazing things.
Eyes to the sky for the 2021: the planet dance
If you are between the ones that watches through the bright dots of the sky and wonders if they are all stars or if, between them, there is even some planet. While all the others admire the sky and say “What beautiful stars!”, you think “Yes, but there aren’t only stars”.
So if you would like to go “hunting for planets” here you have the ones that will be visible in the year 2021. Eyes to the sky for the 2021, the planets will dance together in the starry night.
Jupiter, Mercury and Saturn were visible from the 9th to the 12nd of january, right after the sunset. But don’t worry if you lost it, here you have when you will be able to see the planets in the night sky again:
- The 20th of january Mars and Uran will be together in a conjunction visible with the naked eye.
- The 11st of february it will be the time of a conjunction between Jupiter and Venus, right before the sunsire. This time, though, they won’t be easily visible, so if you would like to watch them use a telescope and a map of the sky.
- The 5th of march they will be Mercury and Jupiter to come together a bit before the sunrise.
- One between the most beautiful conjunctions it will be visible the 13rd of july and it will involve Venus and Mars.
- In august we will have two oppositions: the one of Saturn of the 2nd of august and the one of Jupiter of the 20nd.
- In october Venus will be visible with the naked eye after the sunset, together with the giant star Arcturus.
- Lastly, eyes to the sky for the 2021 in december, when we will have an incredible show: the planets Venus, Saturn and Jupiter will create an almost perfect alignment, between the 15th and the 17th of the month.
The Moon will put on a show
During the 2021 the Moon will often put on a show. It will do it while “dancing” together with the planets. The 18th of february, for example, it will be in conjunction with Mars. While the following day to the amazing composition it will be added the star Aldebaran and the meteor shower of the Pleiades.
The 10th of march, instead, it will be in conjunction with three planets: Saturn, Jupiter and Mercury. But we will have to wake up early and to be careful, because it will be a very short show right before the sunrise.
Then the month of may will be rich too, the Moon will be in conjunction with Mercury and Venus (13rd of may), with Mars (15th of may) and with Saturn (31st of may).
It will be amazing the conjunction between the Moon and Venus of the 11st of august, surrounded by the annual meteor shower of Saint Lorenzo.
In october a wonderful conjunction will have as protagonists the Moon and Venus, inside the constellation of Scorpion.
Between the 27th and the 28th october, the Moon, instead, will be aligned with the stars of Castore and Polluce. Lastly, in december here you have an amazing foursome of conjunctions that will have our natural satellite as protagonist: with Mars (3rd of december), Venus (6th of december), Jupiter (7th of december) and Saturn (8th of december).
Eyes to the sky for the 2021: there will be four eclipses in the next twelve months
Let’s start with the first eclipse, the total one of Moon, estimated for the 26th of may. Unfortunatelly it won’t be visible from Italy, but the show will be available from Australia, South – East Asia and from the United States. The same day we will have even a Super Moon. Our satellite, infact, will be full and next to the perigee.
The second eclipse of the 2021 there will be the 10th of june and it will be an anular eclipse of Sun, but it will be only visible from Greenland, Russia and North of Canada.
The 19th of october we will have a partial eclipse of Moon and, lastly, the 4th of december it will the time of a total eclipse of Sun.
